    Description

    This 1870's Military Militia M1872 Shako with Regimental Markings was recently rescued from the attic. Note the "white spade" painted on the edge of the crown. Some of the leather as cracked and fallen away. Half the chin strap is missing. The 1850's brass eagle emblem is missing one of the attachment wires. The remaining wire is a replacement and has been crudely re-soldered. The tarred brim is slightly warped and bubbling up in places.
    A unique and interesting helmet that displays nicely.
