    Here is an early1873 Trapdoor rifle or carbine receiver and early breech block, number is 43937 which puts it in a carbine block and in a Custer use range. Breech is blackish and grey, threads are all good, has a hinge pin, has a complete high arch early breech block, top marked MODEL/1873/EAGLEHEAD/CROSSED ARROWS/US, mostly grey/dark grey, a little bit of damage to the edge of the relief hole for the extractor where the thumb latch mounting plate goes.
