    Description

    Antique French Model 1866 Scabbard.  This measures 23-1/4" long.  Nice brown age patina throughout, some spots of scattered pitting in the center where the spots area. This is also dent free.  I have tried 3 different M1866 Bayonets in it, and it does not fit in 100%, there is approx. 1" of the bayonet left out of the sheath.  It also sounds like it hits metal, and does not seem to give.  I am thinking perhaps this is a M1867 Remington Bayonet Scabbard, or blockage, not certain.  The scabbard is devoid of markings except for a "H" in a shield cartouche on the point ball. Anyways, if you need a scabbard and want to see if you can fix it, make a bid.  We will start at a zero reserve and will include free shipping for you.
