    Description

This Indian Wars era bayonet scabbard is marked NGP for the National Guard Pennsylvania.
It is 18½ inches long, with the belt loop attachment adding another 2 inches in the upright position.
The leather is in very good condition, with just some light crazing and cracking.  The belt loop pivots on the rosette.
The NGP marked rosette has expected patina for its age.
Much of the japanned finish remains on the metal scabbard.
A nice example of a bayonet of this era, and a National Guard Pennsylvania scabbard which is not often seen.
