    Description

    This is an original Model 1881 Dress Helmet Plume Holder Rod.
    It was used with the plume holder to hold the plume high above the helmet.
    It has a stamped brass scroll decorated head, with a brass rod.  The rod is threaded at the end to screw into the helmet.
    It is about 4½ inches long, and the rod head is approximately 1 inch wide.
