Vintage US Army Navy 1800s Tin Box for Officer Epaulettes.  Not sure of exact age.  Box to hold large officer Epaulettes.  Has small inner compartment as shown.  Red lining.  Box measures 9 3/4" x 6 3/4" x 5".  See photos.
